We are delighted to announce that Wong Tung has received awards for six of our projects at the World Design Awards 2023, presented by The Architecture Community. These esteemed awards recognise outstanding architectural designs that push the boundaries through the integration of innovative technologies, materials, programs, and addressing concepts such as globalization, flexibility, adaptability, and the digital revolution.
The six award-winning projects by Wong Tung are as follows:
1) Treasury Building – Awarded Category: Public Building Built (Winner)
Treasury Building is a 22-storey complex and located at the junction of Tonkin Street West and Tung Chau Street, Cheung Sha Wan. The building is used as a re-provision of government offices previously accommodated in Immigration Tower in Wan Chai and other government offices scattered in rented accommodation elsewhere.
2) 21 Borrett Road- Awarded Category: Residential Built (Winner)
The site of 21 Borrett Road is unique in the whole of Hong Kong. It commands panoramic view over Victoria Harbour, while sitting comfortably amidst lush green hill slopes as backdrop. The masterplanning of buildings and landscape exudes an air of nobility.
3) The Grand Marine – Awarded Category: Residential High-Rise Built (Winner)
Sitting in a unique location against the base of the lush greenly Sai Shan hills, The Grand Marine offers a tranquil living experience away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is designed to offer a distinguished relaxing lifestyle that epitomizes tranquillity and affordable luxury, while achieving highest efficiency, maximizing number of units with sea/mountain views.
4) The Royale- Awarded Category: Residential High-Rise Built (Winner)
Sitting in the esteemed Castle Peak Road – Castle Peak Bay, The Royale is nestled within a traditional luxury residential district. Overlooking the picturesque Golden Beach, it offers residents unparalleled vistas and a serene coastal lifestyle.
5) Kai Xuan Plaza Zhengzhou – Awarded Category: Mixed Use Built (Winner)
Strategically located at the Northwestern corner off the intersection of Huayuan Road and Nongke Road, Jian Ye Kai Xuan Plaza is a striking mixed-use development right next to Metro Line 2, hence making it highly accessible and visible in Jinshui CBD of the Huayuan Road business district of Zhengzhou City.
6) Suzhou IFS – Awarded Category: Skyscraper (Winner) – In collaboration with KPF
Suzhou IFS is currently the 19th tallest building in the world!! According to Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). “Suzhou IFS aims to be a landmark on the city’s skyline in both form and function, drawing upon modern design practices to belay the area’s historical repertoire. Conceived as a mixed-use high-rise, the tower will incorporate a number of disparate programs, embodying a modern 21st century presence that is symbolically tied to the city’s identity.
