Occupying Lots 8 & 18 of Sha Tsui Road are Buildings 1 & 3 – two of 4 industrial buildings redeveloped by Goodman in Tsuen Wan. The two buildings are not only the first batch of data centres completed by the Sydney-based developer in Hong Kong, but also reflect the Group’s commitment in ESG, including LEED Platinum Certification for this project and the voluntary effort to renovate the existing laneways contiguous to the redevelopment site.
The architecture attempted to strike a balance between outward appearance and internal functionality built upon simple geometry. Externally, the utilitarian overtone of the development is debunked by a sleek-looking façade composed of glazed and bespoke fibre cement panels, architectural fins and vertical greening. WTPL is the Lead Consultant for the project, coordinating the input from a large consultant team. The remaining two buildings of the cluster are currently under construction and will be completed in 2024.
