The Qingdao International Beer City project is a pivotal element in the development of Laoshan District as a sub-center of Qingdao. It strengthens Laoshan’s role as a robust support for building a modern urban framework for Qingdao while effectively balancing the complex relationships between urban expansion, economic development, cultural heritage, and historical preservation amid the city's future growth.

This project aims to create a city sub-center themed around the Beer Festival, with a site area of approximately 227,000 square meters and a total gross floor area of about 807,000 square meters. It includes a Beer Festival Square, a hotel, shopping centers, vibrant streets, open public green spaces, and an efficient, flexible office building complex. As the mastermind behind the project, Wong Tung has meticulously planned the overall master layout and the design of nine office buildings, providing world-class space for the Beer Festival and creating a vibrant atmosphere for festivities, fashionable shopping, and romantic getaways for visitors from home and abroad.

Qingdao is a coastal mountain city, and its unique land and sea topographical features have shaped the urban layout of "mountains over the sea, mountains and sea interlinked, and city and sea integrated." The project's skyline gradually descends from north to south, resembling mountains embracing the main peak. This layout references both the mountains and the sea, situating the city between them and enjoying the natural ambiance granted by the mountains and sea, which yields beautiful views and establishes itself as the eastern gateway of the nation.

The large open square in this project will not only host Qingdao's beer festivities but will also accommodate various activities, ensuring sustainable functionality. With its geographical orientation and ample capacity, the square has great potential to provide a lasting grand stage for Qingdao, bringing substantial benefits to the city's development.
